The real disaster on South Africa’s roads

  • Illegal U-turns
  • Blocking intersections
  • Cars driving through red lights
  • Turning lanes used as straight lanes
  • Emergency lanes used as normal lanes
  • Passengers dropped off in active traffic
  • Recklessly cutting across multiple lanes

I know we can many more offences to this list. However, my common observations includes no stopping at a stop sign or not applying the principles of yielding + driving into oncoming traffic (not cautiously either ).

Lawlessness definitely started in 1990s. Any coincidence there?

Unforgivably, it has become the norm in the total absence of law enforcement. This absence is a direct spawn of despicable governance.

To be fair, seeing the metro police in traffic is a novelty. Seeing the metro actually doing their job is like a blizzard in the Sahara.
