Using Claude to Build an AI Trading Bot

Here’s my problem with this: it’s not a game of super Mario where the Goombas as always spawn in the same place and the landscape never changes so you can’t leave it to make a million mistakes but eventually figure it out and win consistently. Scalping tiny amounts could work but then you need huge positions and deep pockets….

Maybe a double Bollinger or some other very solid tech approach could work on average but unless you can introduce the news, I’d be skeptical.

I’d ultimately go with a bot plus a human weighted guess myself.

Yeah probably true I have seen the bots seems to pick up on a narrative slighlty late so miss the max gains but over time get the trend right and also have circuit breakers which ensures they don't blow up like most humans.

Built a site that should help me see the overall market with the bots recommendations and the whale movements so hopefully that helps me with my trades and I will hopefully be able to outperform the bots over the next competition.

Oh dear, not another vibe coded money machine. 🥲

Season 3 just went live, added some chinese models and google lets see how they perform.

You're going to lose money with this.

This is coming from someone who wrote expert advisors for MetaTrader 4 & 5 and sold it to greedy bastards who wanted a get rich quick scheme.

A bit of advice, especially when trading US markets and anything paired with the USD on NFP Fridays and when the Fed announces interest rates, don't leave these things running over those days. You'll get margin called for more than your available balance! Not because your broker doesn't like you, but due to exceptionally high volatility which will cause your broker to activate your SL too late.

The easiest way to make a million with trading bots is to start with a billion.

The only advice I have is limit each position to 1% of your pot and don't short anything without the stop in place.

Thanks there is circuit breakers / risk managment writen in the code. Trades usually have a SL of 1-2% but depends on the trade and risk / reward profile. Also have circuit breakers if a bot has 3 bad lossing trades it gets a 24 hour cool down but have now instroduced a new rule where it can earn back its position quicker by making profitable paper trades. Idea is to keep gather more data on what works and what doesn't so bots improve over time.

New season is still early but bots seem to spot trens slightly late althoughif we enter a prolonged bull market it won't really matter.

Updated the webiste and bots to now include stocks, charts and things that could swing the market this week. Pretty intretsing how stocks are more volatile than crypto at the moement and everyone is beating expectations.

Bots still not doing great but atleast the side project is fun and have some useful data that should hopefully be profitable in the months to come.

I agree, it's a good exercise. I did it on a much smaller scale and retired my bot but it's worth doing if for nothing else than to prove to yourself that it's not a trivial matter. Puts the MTI clowns well and truly in perspective lol.
