HUAWEI B315s LTE router discussion thread.

Good morning and slightly OT,

I have the B315s-936 router, and a Telkom uncapped LTE connection. I want to be able to limit the speeds of the connections (ethernet and wifi) on the router (doesn't seem possible on this router) because with the kids being at home, my wife working from home i am now being throttled (4Mbps) since yesterday.

What would be the best way (read cheapest router) to be able to do this ?? I have a simple network, so i dint want to spend an arm and a leg to do this. Someone mentioned that the Tenda AC10 or Huawei WS5200 could do this, connected to B315 ??? any thoughts please, as i am clueless with routers networks etc

cheers

Hi guys, I wonder if someone can advise?

My Huawei b315s-936 has FW 21.333.01.01.372 which I believe to be the latest.

I installed the Trend Housecall for home networks on my PC and after running it, got the following warning:
"your home network is vulnerable to hackers - High Risk
Hackers can enter your home network through the router using SSLv2-Drown Vulnerability."
It then suggests that I update the FW.

Any ideas?

B315s-936 is a solid LTE CPE for its era. For locally available alternatives in SA, the Huawei B525 or B535 would be a decent upgrade if you can find them, supporting more LTE bands and faster Cat6/Cat7 speeds while still working on Cell C and other local networks.
