New laws coming after households employing domestic workers in South Africa, with threats of R100,000 fines

If it's a choice between firing a domestic or getting a R100k fine, I wonder which one people will take. They'll just have to deal with all the homeless unemployed illegals themselves...

It shouldn't really be too much of a challenge to avoid hiring illegals though. Unless you mean that they've all got fake docs?
 
Even easier, to just not hire anyone.

I know a few people with very suspect names by your logic, that are very kosher South Africans.

One such, is named Teegan McQuire ... , so I don't know. Who also happens to speak English, probably better that both of us.
 
Reminds me of an old joke. Some feminists complained about a lack of women appropriate gym gear at the local gym. So the gym owner brought in ironing boards, vacuum cleaners and mops.

It will have to be that boys. Like most people in Europe, where most people clean their own homes. No more ultra luxury.
 
If you don't employ them, the law does not apply to you and you do not have to worry about anything. Clean yourself. Protect yourself from crazy employment laws. Save yourself a lot of money!
