Everyone assumed that it would have a miraculous effect, like what the CFC ban did to reverse the hole in the ozone layer, but it turns out it was all just meant to happen naturally. Nothing we can do will ever fix this, because it isn't actually broken. The earth constantly changes - we have historical evidence to prove it. It's a natural process. We just so happen to live in the middle of one of those change cycles, and everyone thinks it's the end of the world and that we can somehow change it. Spoiler alert: it probably is, and we definitely can't.

before UK embarked on their green agenda making their electricity one of the most expensive in the world, they only contributed 1% of the worlds greenhouse gasses.

I didn't know sea surface temperatures (open ocean) could go above 29C! Learn something new...

Google says 30-31C:
Open ocean temperatures rarely approach these extremes, typically maxing out around 30°C to 31°C (86°F to 88°F) even in the warmest tropical zones.

That's insane.
A few quintillion liters of water at 30C is an unfathomable amount of energy.

EDIT: Apparently, to measure that, they need the concept of a zettajoule, a billion trillion joules.... JISSES!

We really do live on a water planet, not that an armgat Vaalie like me ever notices.

Hurricanes require sea surface temperatures of 26C+ to form. This is one of the reasons they never occur in the South Atlantic, but do in the North Atlantic. The waters around SA are mostly far below those thresholds:
