And despite billions being pumped into making changes to "follow the science", it has made literally zero impact (especially considering that India and China alone pump out more pollutants than every other country on earth combined - and won't make any changes). I can't wait to see the global temperatures drop when the UK finally hits net zero!
Everyone assumed that it would have a miraculous effect, like what the CFC ban did to reverse the hole in the ozone layer, but it turns out it was all just meant to happen naturally. Nothing we can do will ever fix this, because it isn't actually broken. The earth constantly changes - we have historical evidence to prove it. It's a natural process. We just so happen to live in the middle of one of those change cycles, and everyone thinks it's the end of the world and that we can somehow change it. Spoiler alert: it probably is, and we definitely can't.
