Current projected expenditures R4.6 billion...and we have a way to go yet.

It's not unheard of for initial estimates to be way off the mark, that's why it's called an estimate.Initial estimates to rebuild the fire-damaged precinct - R2.1 billion.

2016 when DA took over coj, the first thing they did which was to increase "rates and taxes". and then, nothing else happened.

Helen Zille is a better politician than Cilliers Brink. You can't simply apply an experience in one municipality to another when the personnel are different. Zille successfully organised a very complicated coalition in CT in 2006 (when coalitions were hardly spoken about) and saved CT from the ANC clowns.

Well they couldnt have done it in 2016 because they only took over in August.
2017 had an increase like MOST years before and after ( COJ and ALL other muni's )
2018 had 0% R&T increase ( under the DA )
So not quite sure what your point is
I still maintain DA should not go into any alliance for getting 50%+
If they cant get it then be on the opposition bench. It does not work otherwise.
Look at Pretoria/Ekhurhuleni/COJ and others. The black parties are just in it for their own back pockets and will jump ship as soon as they cant get it. Been proven time and time again by ASA/EFF and ANC
I still find it hilarious. All the 30%ers vote in their ANC party then riot and destroy because they dont deliver and then vote them in again. Just confirms the mentality level

Coalition governments, in fact the wrong coalition government spends most of its time managing factions instead of delivering services, that's pretty much what has been happening since Joburg fell to coalitions in 2016 and for various coalitions.
As to kicking the ANC out, what possibilities are you thinking of that would result in the ANC being kicked out? DA, EFF and MK? Or a DA majority?
