Spider-Man… that’s money I regret spending.
 
Every screening of Spider-Man was packed. I thought it was good. I really like Zendaya and would contribute to a 400 page Stan Lee as Homer argument thread. When.

I paid R130 for a slush puppy, whispers and popcorn.
 
I don't mind paying money at the movies its part of the experience. I don't compare because that's like saying why should I pay R25k for an economy plane ticket to London when its cheaper to drive a beat-up diesel 4x4 across Africa to get there that uses less fuel lol.

As for Spider Man I enjoyed it, was it the best Marvel movie? no. But it was good enough. I can't wait for Avengers though i'm gonna book Prestige with friends and make 101% sure i'm at the first screening. We're going to need to be fast at the keyboard though the tickets are gonna fly out the door...

And you know kids are main target for this. It is nearly impossible to skip this purchase.. For a typical size family, it is at least R500-R700 damage per movie, including movie tickets of course.

However, shopping centre/mall owners are mainly to blame in my opinion. I know one small shop (hair salon) in not so good shopping centre pays R22K rental so I can't imagine rental for a SK in a decent mall.
