Something doesn't add up, the guy can manage to make a decent profit on selling a large banana for R1?
Bananas aren't cheap any longer, retail is R20/kg and wholesale half of that at R10/kg, a large banana is well over 100g..

I for one am proud of our milquetoast Midstream boys broadening their horizons and seeking out these incredible entrepreneurs in the townships. Full credit for obtaining their tax returns too.
Midstream guys are p*ss poor compared to some of the township people though. Imagine this guy making so much money just by selling bananas. What else is he hiding? Maybe he is selling apples, oranges, apricots as well and earning 4 times than what is reported? These skelms cannot be trusted.

Plus townships get free food, electricity, water and houses.. Sell bananas and get profit. No other expense at all.

He collects those that fell off the back of a lorry...

That area is full of mango, banana, avo, macadamia nuts.

Makamu deals only in cash and generates over R2,000 in revenue per day from his banana stand. This equates to R60,000 per month.

His success is partly thanks to his excellent marketing tactic. He recorded his own voice and plays it on a loop through a loudspeaker, shouting: ‘R10 R10 Big bananas’.

Does he stop playing that racket if you buy one of his cursed bananas?

Man who made R60,000 per day selling bananas has cancer

People come for the bananas but leave with guava... typical bait and switch.
