‘Monstrosity’: R1bn V&A Waterfront hotel sparks backlash

That's true for most of us semigrants and SA visitors. Its sad though that for many people their only experience of SA and even Africa is not leaving the Harbour. There are people who are here for a week and don't even go up table mountain.

It's not a bad base for first time visitors to the city, but to never leave the Waterfront would be wild...😳

All I did was do a Google search for 'Brutalist' - then copied the 'AI Overview' for a brief summary - and then included a link to a more detailed Wikipedia post - and that is somehow not acceptable any more?

I'm not offended. I'm just saying that the leg you stood on to get annoyed when making these threads:

Is the same leg I'm standing on when I'm annoyed at people posting AI responses.

Unlike another 'well-respected & erudite' forumite who regularly posts a slew of 'duplicate, triplicate and even quadruplicate posts' in various motoring threads on an all-too-frequent basis - all I did was post ONE comment on the topic at hand here - and that somehow triggered your response - you may need to take a Panado & have a lie-down to recover from any imminent Dark Clouds Looming on the Horizon (MyBB™) , regarding this MASSIVE (MyBB™) onslaught to your fragile sensibilities, which appear to be Under Siege (MyBB™)... 🤡:p🚑

So, first time I went to CT, V & A area was novelty to me. Kind of central to ferries, museum, dining places and not too far from Table mountain really. It could cater to my type of first time visitors ?

Novelty wore off later of course. I stay as away from that place now. Cost is main factor of course.
Yeah, I still far away from V&A unless I really have to go there. It's far too busy, even during the winter months. Also, all stuff at the V&A is over-priced, including the restaurants. I like the new outside market (used to be located at Granger Bay) but that's about every 3 - 4 months.
