If the goal is a non-racial society then politicians shouldn't be making these sorts of comments. It's irresponsible and reckless. Private entities are fully within their rights to offer education in any language medium of their choosing. Nobody should be criticised for exercising their rights.

Nobody would bat an eye at a Zulu or Xhosa university, and rightly so. Why must it be so different for an Afrikaans medium university? In a non-racial society the language should be irrelevant.

If anything she should be congratulating these folks for creating another institute for education. We all know the country needs more of them, not less. Instead she opens her ignorant mouth and rants incoherently about Apartheid.

Also, BTW NONE of this should matter. There is nothing inherently wrong with an Afrikaans medium university. Just as there's nothing inherently wrong with a Zulu or Xhosa medium university. Because we all know the government certainly isn't improving education right now. The more education opportunities Saffers get, of frankly ANY language group, the better.
