New laws coming for online gambling in South Africa

Trade minister Parks Tau has revealed that the National Gambling Policy Council (NGPC) is fast-tracking the development of a Bill to address gambling challenges in South Africa, including online gambling.

Responding to Parliamentary questions from RISE Mzansi MP Makashule Gana, Tau added that the NGPC had also established a Gambling Technical Committee to review current legislation.

Bad Ballie is basically correct. There is already a court ruling saying operators cant do this. SCA blocked one from running live roulette off a sports betting licence back in Oct 2025. Changed nothing. Same casino games still live on their sites right now. So a "new bill" does not mean much if we cant even enforce the rules we already got. Worked over 15 years in this industry and recently started an independent review platform. Happy to dig up specifics if anyone wants them.
