"News" and "Facebook" should never be used in the same sentence unless the phrase "doesn't contain any reliable" separates those words.

But in this case, correct, as reported in Rapport which Emmanuel may have missed today.

My wife knows someone close to the family, we heard the exact same thing ater it happened, he strangled her and then hanged himself, family took him down, then SAPS arrived.

She may have broken up with him after an argument or something, which for controlling people is the ultimate rejection, afterwards in a fit of rage he strangled her and then hung himself after realising the gravity of what he'd done.
That response is why women often struggle to leave abusive relationships, they know that if they do the partner will get highly aggressive and often violent.
