I bought some new CR2023 or whatever flat round batteries the other day. To protect against children eating them they now come inside an inner layer of plastic that's pretty much unbreakable.

Maybe there's a secret to it, but it took me like 10 minutes to get the stupid thing out.

A paring knife or a pair of scissors would have worked very well, you would have had the battery out in less than a minute.

And it’s a CR2032 battery. The naming convention comes from the battery having a 20mm diameter and a 3.2 mm thickness. That’s why you can use a CR2016 or CR2025 battery should you really need to use whatever device you’re inserting the battery into and you can’t find a CR2032 battery. Just put a type of spacer (like a folded small piece of paper) in to keep the battery in place.

Great now insurance wants me to pay another R870 because the geyser was replaced after hours (they never said there's an extra charge for this). Never a dull moment lol.
