Man who wishes pain and suffering for his team received a R42 million pay package from MTN

MTN Group’s CTIO received an R42 million pay package in the 2025 financial year. Molapisi is the former CEO of MTN South Africa and currently leads the telecommunication giant’s AI initiatives group-wide.

Molapisi recently launched a BackABuddy campaign in the hopes of building a digital lab for Rankaile Primary School, for which he raised R142,000 in 10 months.

At that pay, he is earning roughly R160k a day (based on 251 days for working year). I am pretty sure he could build the computer lab himself without undergoing too much hardship.

Why bother with the backabuddy?

So he has risen up from hardship and poverty and is being paid extremely well but to help the school he attended he opted to setup a backabuddy campaign. He should be ashamed of himself.

Like all those celebrities like The Rock and Oprah asking people to donate during one bout of Californian wildfires.
