The Pentagon is evaluating its military footprint in the Middle East in an early sign of the Iran war’s potential to transform the U.S. presence in the region, according to eight people, including officials and others familiar with the matter.

One of the key areas the Defense Department is assessing is whether to pull back troops from the Persian Gulf, where America’s large overseas military bases have been battered by months of Iranian strikes, two people familiar with the ongoing analysis said.

They should change the name from the department of war to the department of surrender.
 
South Korea’s president ⁠has renewed his push to regain independent control of the military from the US in the event of war and urged faster progress in acquiring nuclear-powered submarines after Donald Trump’s order to cut joint drills.

On Sunday night, Trump instructed the Pentagon to “substantially reduce” this week’s joint military exercises with South Korea, saying the nuclear-armed North “has been unthreatening and respectful” and that the US president had a “very good relationship with Kim Jong-un”.


Lee Jae Myung said on Tuesday that Seoul should proceed without disruption with ‌the planned transfer, during his term, of ‌wartime operational control, or Opcon, of South Korean forces from the US – a goal he and the government have long held.

 
I know repu0table British pollsters are registered with the British Polling Council, which is supposed to uphold transparency standards. Does the USA not have an equivalent? No wonder some of their polls are so bad and unreliable! Seems like any one and their dog can setup a 'polling company' !

Why are they not revealing names of people behind this "experiment"? It should be easy to find and haul them over the coals surely? No?
“All previously published polling releases have been withdrawn and should not be cited or treated as genuine polling data,” the message read. “Median Strategies was created as a short-term social experiment examining how purported polling information could enter and spread through the political information ecosystem without independent verification.”
