For thirst quenching for example I still find Evian to be incredible. For general drinking when out Pellegrino is better. At home when I buy in bulk i get Nestle. Its definitely a very viable tasting one can do, they all have small intricacies that set them apart.

Funny enough I don't get it with Whisky though, they all just taste the same to me.

We know you’re basic yet pretentious but Mountain Falls (local) is infinitely better than San Pellegrino.

Think it's more likely because it has higher engagement.

There is difference in water in places, and e.g. Here in Vienna the tap water is from the Alps, better than most bottled sources, and imho, Cape Town with its 0 hardness is also great, but I'd not consider regional tasting for that price tbh, you could probably do it more cheaply yourself, just get the minerals and a filter.

But this is paying for the experience, so if you're into that, and it definitely let's you have conversations at the braai, sure.

That is really not the point of the experience, but if there is something there you really like and want to buy to keep at your bar, the world literally is your oyster when it comes to how much you want to spend.

Do you also only do wine tastings or whiskey tastings to find something to buy to take home with you?

Our borehole and mountain stream water on the farm is pretty much as good as it gets, and I take 25 litres of it home to my townhouse for drinking during the week, so I really didn't go to the water library to buy water, just like I very seldom visit the whiskey library to buy whiskey - I go there to drink it.

Yes, normally take a few bottles of wine in a box after a tasting and maybe some cheese too. Never done a whiskey tasting. I just stick to my JDs.

The worst was Londons, can't comment on Dubais as it was warm out the 'cold' tap

I did a whisky tasting back in my youth, across Scotland and then when I got home tried a few locals. Now I can't even stand the stuff

Your water comes from the vaal, same place all your sewerage goes. Agree, london tap water was disgusting.

JD or nothing, maybe Irish at a squeeze. Scotch is poison.
