Thanks, will have a look. It's nice to see that there are still some Forumites, like yourself, willing to help. It seems others are there just to insult and berate.Ive seen cheapy Samsung Watches go for R500 to 800 on Marketplace,

yes, I still remember where I came from, and while I might have a hatred for Apple that burns deep inside me,Thanks, will have a look. It's nice to see that there are still some Forumites, like yourself, willing to help.

Some of our cards are metal lolAn archaic concept that came about after people stopped carrying pieces of paper and metal to buy things.
Not really a smart comment though, everyone has bigger issues than having their bank cards stolen, those who can afford the R3k smartphone and those who don't.Galaxy A17 is just over R3k https://www.amazon.co.za/Samsung-Galaxy-128GB-Smartphone-Light/dp/B0FZTL8B6X?th=1 and comes with NFC. If you can't afford that then you have bigger issues than having your bank card stolen.
add another 2 when you find out I'm Thread-banned for anything Apple on the site.My level of respect for you just went up 3 notches
When the ATM swallowed my credit card a few years ago stopping and replacing it was my biggest worry. Not really a smart comment though, everyone has bigger issues than having their bank cards stolen, those who can afford the R3k smartphone and those who don't.
A few years ago online banking was already long a thing, so stopping a card shouldn't have been your biggest worry. When the ATM swallowed my credit card a few years ago stopping and replacing it was my biggest worry.
I think banking has reached a stage where it caters for every type of customer, there are still brick and mortar for those who don't trust technology, there are fancy virtual this and that, pay with your phone or watch for those who don't believe in physical payments, and there are still cards, ATMs and cash for those who still prefer that. Each to their own, simple as that.
All we have here is corporate mindsets trying to influence reader behaviour. Very democratic and all that...
You forget that we are mainly still a 3rd world country where probably 85% of the population, (myself included), uses cards or cash. We can't all afford the phones/watches that enables tap pay functions.
My phone doesn't support tap/scan payments and I can't afford a smart watch so most of my payments are card or online via an App like my banking app, Checkers Sixty/60, etc.
Thanks. But for now my card works fine.Scan = Camera.
Your phone will support it.
Thanks. But for now my card works fine.
and if you really want to be fancy, I've seen some people do interesting things with the tap to pay chip on a card,Thanks. But for now my card works fine.
I used to be that way, until I figured out they track you with a dumb phone just as easily as a smartphone,Some of us aren't even interested. I finally got given a smartphone, sits in my cupboard unused.
The masses couldn't give a damn either. So nothing to debate.
