It was around R107 billion in 1994, so only about R106,5 billion out.

It's also currently around R6 trillion, but again, that's only five trillion out so all good.

Still more accurate than many stats quoted here though!

I see that posted often, but I'll challenge that US black income number, as it seems ridiculous.

The US census bureau put median annual black American incomes in 1974 at $7 810, so $650 per month, not the $140 which you posted.

These guys lie to themselves and believe anything they're told. If you speak to these people they are convinced the country is on the verge of bankruptcy when it was "their" government who folded.

Here is a interesting statistic for all those who think it was all flowers and roses back then. South Africa had a higher murder rate in 1994 than it does today.

Yeah, I must have had a complete mental break at some point today, I know the figures, and I can't actually explain why I used the ones that I did in this comment. No excuses, I was completely out on this for some reason.

I will also add that as bad as the ANC is at running the country, they have never defaulted on a government bond payment.

The NP 'froze' debt repayments in 1985. Those debts were eventually settled in 2001, under an ANC finance minister.
