Leroy Saunders: South African Fitness Coach Dies at 41 After Collapsing During a Sports Event

I was wondering who would be first with that comment.

Not being so easily fooled, I believe he inhaled chemtrails from a plane in front of them en-route, and then in a state of confusion fell off the edge of the earth.
How'd you gain access to capd's privileged circle?

Wonder if related to this...

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

HCM is the condition I usually focused on in my writing about death in athletes, both because it killed my friend, and because it is sometimes cited as the most common cause of sudden cardiac death in people under 35. About 1 in 500 people have it, but few will drop dead, and many will never even know.

Just shows you how genetics trumps fitness and general healthy living. Assuming that this doesnt involve drugs or heatstroke
Yeah pushing yourself to the limit in a crossfit hydrox competition isn't just fitness and healthy living. It goes quite a bit further than just general fitness that most people should do for healthy living.

What a retarded thing to say.

Oh Ritie, that would make him ultra-fit then, wouldn't it.

The only retarded thing is thinking genetics don't play a huge factor. For example, your genetics clearly didn't give you much of an IQ, as you keep on demonstrating.

PED use is rife in the crossfit community, especially when you start reaching competition level. It is a high intensity sport that requires and places emphasis on recovery time. The exact use-case for PEDs.

PED use strains your heart. Crossfit by design is high intensity.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are tons of crossfitters running around with hand grenades for hearts.

EDIT: This study found that 33% of surveyed professional crossfitters self-reported anabolic use. The number was 74% for men in the 30-39 age bracket, with the older, more experienced competitors the most likely to be on the juice.

Yup, despite trolltrot's ignorant comment, it's not normal for people to keel over and die just because they push themselves to their limit in a sporting event.

100%. They should in fact have a lower chance of early death compared to couch-potatoes like me :)

And that's why I specifically mentioned drugs were assumed not to be a factor.
