Bad news about online licence disc renewals in South Africa

When are these Socialist idiots going to learn that they are not supposed to steal everything? They'd still be free to be corrupt if they stole only a little bit at a time.
What part of your online disk renewal experience is being stolen by the socialists?

Las time I used the PO you had to provide a copy of your ID - now tell me, in this day and age, where the hell do most people find a printer..
I usually find mine where I left it, in my home office.

Bullsh|t ... make 3rd party insurance compulsory and check that validity more than anything else at stops/roadblocks. !!

For me it is at most a 20 minute wait, and then i go on with my day. Print out the double sided form they send you, or just edit the previous year if not sent, pay the vig, and away I go. Of course now you hope they have paper. Just take along a copy of ID, I have the PDF saved, a copy of the latest Eshitwini bill, and your payment method of choice, anything electronic. Then g in, write down mileage in the car, then go in, sit in the front row, and wait playing musical chairs.

Really, do you have to pay per footstep or is there a discount for 10 or more
Technically yes.

Time not working takes time away from working on and in my business. So anything I can get done by someone else for less than my hourly rate makes sense to pay for.

Oh I see, one of them people working per hour instead of working to deliver something.

Sometimes yes... sometimes no. Some clients yes... some clients no.

But any time I'm spending outside of the business doing stuff that can be done by someone else for a lesser cost while I do things to improve the business it makes sense to pay someone.

You must be an absolute joy to work for. No lunch breaks, dock people's pay if they're 1 minute late, etc..

Thx for the reminder

Spent 1min renewing mine on my banking app. They will deliver it to my door.

Fokon post office, roflol

You are reading FAR too much into what I'm saying dude. lol.

I currently don't have employees, my perma one moved to the client direct and the project based guys are doing other things currently... but when I did I paid them more than they asked for (this was perma staff and contractors), I also paid people who did half projects and didn't finish them.

I'd probably pay for their licenses to be delivered so they wouldn't have to leave the house, standing in a queue isn't fun (even if it's 5 mins).

I don't really care where or what time of the day they would be working as long as their stuff gets done, I've been on the short end of the stick on that and I vowed any staff I have will not be treated the way I was.

I was talking more for myself. If I leave the house and use up an hour to go get a license disk printed instead of just paying R100 for it to arrive at my house it's not a good use of my time personally. I would rather go to gym with that time, or do more work on the business and the products I'm building internally to hopefully get some decent forward momentum.

The other thing that would be needed is to make it illegal for insurance companies to deny third-party claims in such cases... (currently, if the person was drunk, etc, their insurance still won't pay out someone else's damage...)

Think it's just more people using Natis and skipping the middleman. Cost R72, delivered to door in a few days and took no time renewing online. I was skeptical at first (it being government site), thinking I would pay only to never receive the license. Have used it for 3 years now. I used to use all the other services before.
