Their streaming has improved but given the problems still being experienced at the wrong time, and especially with available quality, not worth the discount. Just need to service our dish and cables every few years, rain outages are very rare.

BTW @Newsfeed , hasn't been called "bouquets" for about 20 years, they're always just called packages.

We had satellite but canceled it once we got Starlink.
 
I would honestly rather keep paying the extra for a dish, instead of having to deal with their complete dogsh*t app.

The company might not be calling them that, but many normal people still do, and thus also journalists.

Even via Kodi (like mobile), largely struggled yesterday afternoon. 185 Curiosity - buffered like crazy, at one stage had a bad hiss on most of the audio. Put buffering down to them probably prioritising for the peak sports periods.

And they have an unwritten streaming rule for VPN users that cuts max resolution to 480p. That's likely re security, but still...
 
Only reason to have either is if you are a sports fanatic, sport is the only thing they really have to offer.
 
Have to wonder why they're discouraging dish use. I mean satellite is expensive for them to hire but there's too many in Africa who won't be able to switch. Maybe just sensibly moving in that direction though.

Also less public support then needed? Their support system is very complex, I worked with it.

Nah, plenty other things some still like. They just can't or won't pay for Premium anymore

Streaming side 'aint old or all-linear man (although their tech maybe still is for now).

EasyView - Have to first take Satellite @R30, can then also use it via streaming. (Streaming version offers 403 ENCA news for some reason.)

^^ Table reveals something else - the most popular Compact which is also mostly used by the Black customers, offers very much the highest discount possible. So if setting up a complicated and a bit costly dish holds them back, this now drives them forward.

Price structures have changed quite a bit in the last few months too, so this is Canal+ thinking.
