Anyone been to Bangkok/Thailand recently?

We decided on the spur of the moment to book tickets to Thailand, we are flying out this coming Friday.

We got the best tickets to Phuket return on Emirates, will fly to Phuket and then take a flight to Samui the same day.

We will be staying in Chaweng for 14 nights, then one night Patong on our way back, will go to Bangla again although I said I am finished with Phuket. :D We will use Chaweng as a base and travel around the island visiting other towns, maybe go to Koh Phangan for a day. This is going to be a relax holiday, like going to Mauritius.

This will be our 26 year anniversary of travelling to Thailand. Our first trip was September 2000. Back then it was R1.60 to the baht, you divided the Baht by 6 to get the Rand value. 1000 Baht = R160. ****, it was cheap, stayed in Khao San Road with air-con for R64 a night. R150 a night in Samui, same price Patong. Meals were between 50 to 80 baht, beers even cheaper.

sounds good, and yes I believe those where the days 😛, it’s way before my time.
But as you know Phuket is probably the most expensive city in all of Thailand.
But if you want to go to Phuket, now is the time.
I know there ain’t much anyone can tell you about Thailand, BUT, it’s still magical and fking incredible.
I have been luck to call this place home; it’s my 8th year and not a day goes by without feeling blessed to call this home.

I thought about staying at Nai Yang Beach for the last night as it is next to the airport, but told my wife I think that we should hit Bangla for one last time.
 
@bokkat do you think you will get the 30 days visa I believe they changed the visa on arrival. Is it rainy season now? Congratulations on you 26 years of marriage.

It is our 26 years anniversary of Thailand travel, but also our wedding anniversary as we went there for Honeymoon. :D

I am only going for 15 days, always said I want to go longer, but this 14 day stay at Chaweng Beach is perfect for us.

Two weeks, relax and do fokkol.

All at the same hotel, I got a room right next to the beach on the main strip, swimming pool on my doorstep.
