A MyBroadband reader was recently surprised when his order on Makro's e-commerce marketplace was cancelled without explanation, believing the action violated the CPA.

How is this still an issue in 2026??
Do people not know about the ECT?
The CPA does not apply to online, that's what the ECT is for. Plus if it's something silly like R10 for something that's supposed to be R1000 of course any shop has a legal right to say no, even brick and mortar CPA section 23 covers that part as well.
