I also asked this question a few times before, but apparently 2GB is more than enough as these units is seen as single app devices, so you have to close an app to open another and the 2GB is apparently also fine on handling 4K when it come to video streaming. ... but yeah who doesn't want more :giggle:

Mine handles Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision perfectly. I must agree to it been the best android tv box I've ever owned. The menu is instant, and the upscaling actually works. I now mostly stream 1080p because the picture just look so damn good on my 4k tv.
And a big plus is streaming sport on the dstv app. It is much cleared and sharper.

Why isn’t your TV doing the scaling?

How does the streaming box even come into the equation, it’s not like you can turn it off on the TV.

What other tv boxes are you comparing to?
 
The article is just dumb.
Its like saying Steers is the best burger you ever had, but the only other burger you had was McDonalds.
Also why say it half the price of Apple tv? Have you had and used an Apple tv to compare?
A Chery is half the price of a BMW. Does that make them the same?
 
Actually been eying this box and have it on my TL wishlist.
Specs wise (which incl I/O options) the best Droid box on TL.

Lol yeah no the Apple TV is 700 + % faster in single core performance. Nevermind it doesn't have Infuse which is the best media player on any platform. The IPTV apps are also mostly better than what you get on Android TV apart from Tivimate. Heck even the Stremio apps were much better before Apple killed them but Stremio is dying anyway.

The chipset doesn't need more RAM. Most of the apps run just fine.
I doubt there's even a device on the market with similar chipset with more than 2GB ram?

Besides, why pay a fortune more for RAM in this day and age if there's not much benefit to the device?
