What are the most interesting or even lesser-known inventions by South Africans?
 
The Kreepy Krauly automatic swimming pool cleaner was invented in 1974 by Ferdinand Chauvier, a hydraulics engineer who immigrated to South Africa from the Belgian Congo in 1951. He developed the iconic device in his home workshop in Springs, Gauteng, alongside his son Daniel.
