The best TV box I ever had which has 4K streaming, Wi-Fi 6, and PC gaming for R1,499

Yeah it's one thing I just can't understand. Even 3GB for an ancient device is not really good enough, but still seems to be the best option.
Android needs min. 4GB to run properly.

It runs Google TV. Not vanilla phone Android.
And yes it supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision.

Every TV does upscaling. You can’t turn it off.

Otherwise you’d have a tiny little box in the middle of the screen.

There is a difference between enlarging to full screen and upscaling.

There really isn’t because the pixels need to come from somewhere which is what upscaling does.

Every single modern TV does upscaling, it’s part and parcel of the package unlike a monitor.

The difference is that if you watch a 720p or 1080p video on a 4k tv it looks kak. If you use a device that upscales said videos it looks better.

IPTV EPG loads much faster yes. Also during rugby halftime I can switch to another show in another app and then switch back without having to reload anything.
Haven't used Netflix in months.

Netflix is closing two more of its video game studios as the streaming giant continues to scale back on internal game development.

The company is shutting down Los Angeles-based Night School Studio, the developer behind the acclaimed Oxenfree series, and plans to close Helsinki-based Moonloot. Netflix acquired Night School Studio in 2021, while Moonloot was founded in 2022. Game File first reported the closures.

The moves are the latest in a string of cutbacks as Netflix reshapes its gaming strategy.

Tired of dealing with my Mi Boxes and their stutters when streaming F1.

This can sometimes be because of TV and content frame rate mismatch.

Enable the frame rate match in android settings or your app.

If you streaming a 25FPS stream it will drop the TV Hz to 50Hz. If you leave it at 60Hz you may see those lagging or jerky picture.

You pay Apple Tax and don't get anything better. My Shield TV Pro 2019, is still my prefered device.

Shield pro vs Apple TV is also night and day difference in hardware specs. The epg parsing is night and day different from my experience. And trust me I’ve tried to make it faster on the shield (it’s still my daily driver)

That's the 1080p stream you're referring to, right? It runs like an absolute dream. Going to see if it will handle the 4k stream,just for fun.

The difference is that if you watch a 720p or 1080p video on a 4k tv it looks kak. If you use a device that upscales said videos it looks better.

And how did your 720p become full screen? Yes it was upscaled.

What you should have said is that your TV upscales badly, not that it doesn’t upscale because that’s the only way in which it works to put full screen images on your 4K TV.

An 80gb movie from a Plex share will also play faster and smoother but yes it's got the Apple logo and Apple sucks.
