Electric car door handles are facing intense scrutiny for being a safety risk

Just like keyless entry*, a stupid system.

*If you have to put your fob into a little faraday pouch which you then to dig out when you want to access the vehicle, so it doesn't get stolen by people boosting the signal, might as well just have a key and press a button to unlock it
 
Anyone else noticed that with keyless entry your keyfob battery doesnt last as long mine is around 6 to 7 months and I use the Energizer 2032

Yes,noticed that as well. That's why I usually buy the double packs as the 2032 is fairly cheap.

I also do that , it dies without warning , the few incidents i had I walked to the car , and nothing, the option to unlock with the key is there but that will set off the alarm and I wasnt in the mood or that, went back into the house and changed the battery, luckily it takes about a minute to swop out the batteries - the major hassles is the new packaging where they encapsule the battery in plastic - I understand its to assist if a child swallows it.

This strangely, I have not noticed as yet. I am still on my original 2016 battery. From my past experience as well with batteries that do not lie in the engine bays tend to last longer - My E46 was a 2002 model I only changed the factory battery in 2013. I also tend not to fit anything after market on the cars and keep them standard in terms of electronics as they came out the factory.

You wouldn’t because it’s pretty much inconsequential and would make no perceivable difference to battery life.

The only time it would potentially cause a problem is if you hung your keys up within proximity or left them in the car while it was off as they then talk to each other back and forth constantly.

I have forgotten the key in my car so many times inside
the car when getting out.

It's supposed to be convenient, but it's actually sometimes a hassle.
They should just have a hole where your key needs to be to start.
They can make it optional for the people who are not as forgetful as me.

One of the best things is that if I am searching for the car for my key,
I can just press start to check if the car actually starts.
Then I know the key is in the car.
