I'm hoping the Sherlock Holmses in this forum can help me out. This image is from a music video of a band whose music I love. I had a bunch of their videos but the hard drive they were on fell down two flights of stairs. Drive didn't survive. Unfortunately I cannot remember the band's name or any song titles. For some reason I did take this screenshot, so happy I did, but reverse image search does not return any hits. Maybe someone out there recognizes the image? Would be really grateful.
 
I've no idea but AI says its:

  • Band: The Fiery Furnaces
  • Song: “Tropical Ice-Land”
  • Album: Gallowsbird’s Bark (2003)
Not sure if I believe it. Can't find a matching video on YT.
 
Thanks gregmcc, unfortunately that's not it. Even though I can't remember the band's name, I know I'll recognize it the moment I see it. Lots and lots of Googling has returned many varied results, but no correct answer. I'm starting to think they don't exist, I dreamt it and this is a screenshot from the dream.
 
Here's what I remember:

Probably early 2000s, electronic, down tempo, minimalist, catchy. Girl with unique, eccentric dance moves, guy usually playing some kind of instrument. Give Chela's song Romanticise a listen, that might be closest to the style I remember. Similar dance moves too.

Fulcrum29, do you mean identifying the guitar might lead to the band's name? According to Google the guitar is an Italia Rimini 6 semi-hollow body electric guitar.

Haha, no. Apparently a band called Los Bitchos uses this guitar. Cool name, but not the one I'm looking for.
 
This is pretty sweet way to discover new music! GoodLuck does have a similar style, but not the one.

Using Youtube's Mix feature, I've looked at hundreds of videos, no luck yet.

It will still be hard; guitars are common, but it will help when you can localize the band.

How did you manage to keep a screen capture?
 
Whenever I see something that speaks to me, whether it be in a movie, series, music video, whatever, I take a screenshot and save it to a folder called 'Scenes'. The folder is thousands of images strong and luckily on a different drive than the ill-fated, stairs bound one.
 
Rick Roll is still a thing? Or maybe it's been revived?

Fulcrum29, I just use shortcut key F11 in VLC. I did check the metadata, nothing to be mined there unfortunately. Strangely enough, it shows the file was created 2024, but modified 2023!? Time traveling file. It's definitely much older than that, the year discrepancy must be from copying and recopying over the years.

The beer top right (Gulder) is made by Namibia breweries thats why I guessed GoodLuck.
 
NarrowBandFtw, I middle-clicked, saw the tab description only and closed it. Doesn't count. But after that I watched the actual music video, 1.8 billion views!

Namibian beer? Interesting. I think the band was American, but I'm only about 10% sure of that.

Leyya is not it. I know whenever I hear the name Passion Pit (another band), I think of the mystery band. So I think the band's name will contain two words.

The language and the group only have two artists? I am not sure that this is the right place to get an answer within a reasonable time. It does seem a bit obscure.
