Mystery band

I've never used Reddit, but I created a profile there just for this. There's been more activity here; who knows, someone might stumble upon it and recognize it. The clothing and dance style is quite memorable. I remember when I watched and listened to them regularly, I realized that the band's name might not be easy to remember later on.

Yes the band only has two artists. Not sure what you mean by 'the language and the group...'? The songs were English.
 
Reddit is a good place Ive never seen this band so can't use memory. Hopefully someone there pics it up. Where did you post? r/tipofmytongue is a good place.
 
I used r/NameThatSong. I wanted to use tipofmytongue as well, but I could not see an 'attach image' option when creating a new post. I'm a Reddit virgin.

The girl reminds me of the lead singer of Lark but the style is wrong.
 
I'd be very surprised (but proud) if they are South African. It's difficult to identify accents in songs, but I still think they are from the States. But the Namibian beer connection has deepened the mystery.
 
Looking at the wording in the background I found this via Google:
- "Trink Coca-Cola" is German for "Drink Coca-Cola"
- German words ending in "-nsmittel" ... Lebensmittel – food / grocery
 
Yeah, I also just noticed that 'trink' Coca-Cola is German. Especially the guy could very well be German. Or Scandinavia. I'm hearing a tiny bell ringing for them being Norwegian.

...nah, damn, I thought lebensmittel might be a store/brand name. But it really just means groceries or food...that's what Shi said.

I won't know. It is too hard to track them down. I have scraped through several music videos now, and I can't nail it. Would need more meat, but nice guitar, though.


It is also common, but I couldn't track any down given the tight genre, which is also vast. The guitar is American-style. I would like the background behind that music video since it is European-themed.

I couldn't track down anything on YouTube, making this a strange niche. How did you initially obtain the music video?
 
It was definitely from a 'similar to' type recommendation by Youtube while listening to something else. After that I downloaded more of their songs. I must have had at least 3 or 4 of their music videos.

If you watch Kristoffer Borgli's WHATEVEREST on Youtube, you'll get a general idea of the atmosphere I remember in the mystery video.

I know next to nothing about guitars, but that one does seem to have a good name.

The man is also using the Korg MS-20. An odd gear combination, but the MS-20 has quite the industry pedigree. It put names on the map.

Korg did make an MS-20 Mini,


but, the Mini was released during the 2010s. Your artists used the vintage MS-20; should this be backdated to the 2000s.

I do have a question, though: how is his guitar connected? He isn't using the ESP on the Korg, well, it doesn't look like it. The Korg and mic have cables running to the right. The Korg is connected to power on screen, but where is the guitar running to? Nowhere? The instrument cable is plugged in...
 
Trying to follow those cables has given me a headache. If she could just move a bit to the left, we could follow the cables to their destinations. The guitar is either going to the same plug as the Korg, or somewhere behind the fridge? It's also possible that her left leg is obscuring another plug.

Now it's become even more vital to solve this music video mystery, so that the cables can also be unraveled.

I think that's just 5:56 AM talking, but thanks for the suggestion. I'm busy going through 32 CDs full of MP3s, hoping that I saved some of the tracks in that format. No luck yet.
 
In Germany, that sign clearly means 'Top four rows away from wall, bottom two towards the wall'. Highly efficient country.

Thanks tcofran. I can't find a band named Girl except for an 80s glam rock band, not them.

I'm very sure the band's name contains at least two words, I'll recognize it immediately once I see it. I also remember the two words together didn't make the best of sense initially, but after a few second you 'get it'. Similar to bands like Bowling for Soup, Passion Pit, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Rascal Flats, Death Cab for Cutie, Prefab Sprout, etc.

Passion Pit is the band I listened to most during the mystery band era. Now I'm thinking it could've been 2005-2012ish. Their names together even made some kind of sense. Then again, human memory is not known for its superb accuracy.
