Best thing the South African government has done in the last 20 years?

The Social Grants system.

We would have had civil war if that program did not work out as well as it did. it also provided the seed money for the informal economy to support way more people that the formal economy was every going to be able to.

The IEC also deserves a mention.

I always find it interesting that some of the big mouths on MBB is always missing in these threads. Same as the SA Inventions thread.
SS Bob, Champ etc.

Thanks to the ANC and its voters, KFC franchises have increased dramatically over the last 20 years.

*The made with AI tag is new* lame.
The ANC voter base King Williams Town has 3 Kentucky's. All owned by 1 person. And they are always busy.

ANC ****ers love their chicken.
That's why they so fat and useless.

And if you're a skelm POS.......they are the easiest to bribe. Absolute trash 💩
that all work for government in one way or another there.

It's also a burden on the fiscus and reducing the Rand's purchasing power....and an inflationary pressure, but sure it staved off civil unrest for a while.

best thing? in rapid speed, turning a beautiful country into an garbage dump all while lining their pockets with tax revenues to go live in exile in Dubai,

but I digress, at least we aint Uganda under Idi amin as it could always be worse.
My loathing for anything or anyone still ANC loving or supporting it is indescribable.

ANC have ruined everything that worked in South Africa in the 34 years they have tried to run this government.

ANC en masse decided stealing is far easier. Time for retribution. **** useless thieving scum that only know how to steal. That big wheel in the sky never stops turning. ANC complete destruction and obliteration coming soon.

cant be easy seeing the country of your birth turned into a dumpster fire,
so I can understand the sentiment, but I have to ask, did anybody imagine this?

No. Not in my wildest nightmare could I have envisaged the ruin the ANC has wrought on South Africa.

ANC fix and maintain fokkol. Use everything till it's broken beyond repair.

And if it's not yet broken.....than break it and issue a tender to fix it.

And than steal the money meant for the repair.

Die 🔥🔥🔥in die Hel wag vir die ANC.

20 years in an interesting time period. So from 2006 onwards. Which excludes things like having an independent reserve bank and most of the semi-decent banking regulations, and places any examination basically within Zuma and Ramaphosa eras.

Electrification was mostly done by that point, and economic growth basically peaked in 2007, so that isn't really included either.

I would say as a policy, rolling out ARV and fighting down the prices has probably been the single most cost-benefit thing they have done in the last 20 years.

Informal economy existed before the social grants...

The social grant system is burning the furniture. Sure it helps, but that money invested in actual infrastructure like rail, ports, water, electricity would have helped far, far more people. Economic growth would have given those people scratching out a living as an informal trader an actual chance at a real job.
