South Africa is still the solar king, but its crown is slipping

Africa’s adoption of solar panels as an electricity source will rise 45% this year as the use of the clean power technology broadens across the continent.

3.3 GW is good, but we will probably need to scale that up if to combat the closing of the all the coal that is scheduled.

Or maybe they plan to use more wind?
