Would you feel as strongly if it was an average looking male? (playing devils advocate here - given some seem to be assuming innocence based on almost looks alone). Just because she says she's innocent, doesn't mean she is. Just because the BF who fled Thailand says she is - still doesn't make her innocent either.

It has nothing to do with looks/gender. You have someone admitting she had nothing to do with it. I mean what if it was you being arrested/locked up in some shythole prison. I can't prove that she is 100% innocent though but what if she is? I watch too much banged up abroad xD

Pure speculation here... it wouldn't surprise me if she knew what she was involved in but said.... just don't tell me, otherwise I'm implicated. Not realizing that she could under worst case be convicted of drug trafficking.

Something along those lines.

If you were the BF, who I'm assuming cannot be prosecuted because he wasn't in the country selling/buying, wouldn't you then say from your position of relative safety, look she had no knowledge of what was in the package.

I mean this is Disney levels of evil, on the part of a two-bit drug-dealer.

If you really want to make money in the drug business, you get into pharmacracy.

The war on drugs has always been a war on open competition in drugs.

Yep kind of reminds me of one of the ways the cartels used to move drugs in the US.

Fill the boot of a car with drugs --> log a call with a tow truck company they own for a breakdown --> tow said car --> if you get busted it's not yours, it's a breakdown - full immunity.

If you think it's a bad law, you find ways around it.

But it comes at a significant cost/risk.
 
These drug-dealers are small time compared to big pharma who have access to the captured market of State schools, who categorize similar classed drugs as medicine.

All you have to do is come up with a medical-sounding 'diagnosis' and you are in the big money.

Parents' guilt for an unruly behaved child makes for a clean sweep.

Meanwhile workable teaching methods have been abandoned in favor of methods which have the effect of dumbing down literacy expectations.

State schools is only one field ripe with potential victims.... just consider the US military as another.

There would still have been victims since hundreds of people would be out of pocket due to being landed at a different airport.

Then there would have still been the fact that threatening - with elements of credibility and imminence - would still be criminal acts.

Those who are threatened with violence are victims of real crime.

Someone holds a gun to your head to get you to comply with his demands is a criminal, and is liable to prosecution.

A credible imminent threat of violence is a criminal act, in itself. There are victims, too. The sentence or punishment would merely be proportional to the crime. If the trigger is not pulled or the plane doesn't actually take innocent lives, the punishment is merely less.

Although the transfer is confirmed and the documents were already sent on Aug 6. Ashley will be transfered during Sept.
