Do you need an EB licence to tow that trailer or caravan?

Lots of people are not sure, so I have created a calculator to help. It checks Regulation 99 (the 750 kg trailer line, not a combination-mass AND), Regulation 151 brakes, and the plate caps. A second tab shows payload left after people, a canopy and kit. Five dated bakkie presets to start from, the plate still wins.

Anyone interested can have a look here:

Why do you need a calculator for this?
You don’t, if you’ve already got the plate in your head. Most people haven’t, and half the driving school writeups still get Reg 99 wrong. They treat EB as trailer over 750 kg and combo over 3 500 kg. The Act is the 750 kg trailer line, full stop. Brakes are a second check against the bakkie’s tare, and payload after a canopy and rooftop tent is a third.

Small trailers don't have parking brake, from factory, normally put brick behind wheel

Most will just check the regs and move on.

On the other hand inundating the forum with “calculators”…
Yeah, it's using AI slop vibe coded apps to drive traffic to it's own website/forum which I believe is trying to compete with this one.
The irony was very strong... a calculator to calculate a driver's licence class... pathetic... the codes are all on the back of mine.
You can teach a 5 year old that table.

Don't mind the calculators. But this is link dropping and thread spamming. Creating so many threads to advertise your website doesn't make sense.

Just create single thread and update it with all the new calculators or links to your website. That way it's also easier to search for the calculators.

The thread spamming doesn't make sense.

We don't allow it for other spammers, shouldn't be different here. In the end these threads are to generate traffic and not so much about the tools.

It's a cool website and I don't mind vibe coding if it has been checked for security flaws and risks. Also don't mind forum members to post their creations.

But creating a thread for the same website and calculators doesn't make sense and is spamming. Also annoying if trying to find a calculator that was posted.

We’re going to have to draw the line sooner or later. Maybe one mega thread is the answer, but probably not.

Using mybb to drive traffic has never been well received.
