Well clearly the stick approach doesn’t work based on decades of history. Let’s try the carrot, where the racers dont scatter in all directions endangering lives in their panic but rather welcome their arrival because they know while fokkal people are on the road (barring the odd oddity in which case they will intercept said oddity before entering danger zone), wait 9.9 seconds plus another 30 seconds then get the all clear over their city socialist funded radios and then once your family has passed at 3am carry on the the festivities.

You see that requires that everyone does their job perfectly at 3AM. And chances are that they won't.

You want a perfect world but you also know how the world is, right?

If they want to close off a road at 3AM, I'm all for it, but then all approaches must be closed. If they can do it at that time rather than during normal days or weekends like in Cape Town with these ridiculous marathons and bike races which close the city down on certain Sundays, by all means.

But then all on amps and intersections are closed by lit traffic vehicles.

Green Point or Sunningdale: road rage aholes get offended because how dare someone try to also enter the lane and he has to slow down from his 100km/h in a 60 km/h zone. That won't do. It's a lord or lady in that car.

The latter want BS laws. Sort of 'justice' on the roads.

I didn’t experience any road rage even with my 3 second following distance. Just ***** tailgating and not respecting robot intersections by violating rule no 1, dont enter if you can’t exit. This is one of the things that AI can handle because quite frankly, the current establishment doesn’t possess the intelligence to do the job properly and efficiently.

You'd be suprised at the ahole state of driving mostly among the middle classes in Cape Town and the more reasonable approach by the less wealthy lower middle classes. It's much easier to drive in Maitland vs Green Point.

It’s easy to add the ghost squad to the spur of the moment night street racing WhatsApp group and they can all arrive same time, share some pleasantries and get on with serving the public while keep the random fringes of society travelling at witching hours.

I travelled frequently between rondebosh and blouberg in the 6 months from Xmas to winter which is my que to get out of dodge for dbn winter. There is no such thing as following distance with you okes. If there was any road rage, it came from me. :p

If I was dictator I would make it compulsory to complete and pass an advanced driving and racing course for any car that can do less than 5secs to 100. At the same time I would make it illegal for dealership to act as middle man to crony/drug dealer/tenderprenure/nigerian prince/pastor of some cult church when sars/siu comes with their fact checking.

so these spats were covered by times live, cape argus, cape times, and cape talk radio.
thing is i had overwhelming support from the community - unlike our mayor, premier etc.
that is when madam zille came to the party, trying to smooth things over a little - it was getting rough.

cape talk then invited me to have a debate or "discussion" with either mayor, premier or ward councillor - who were then all simultaneously unavailable for weeks on end

but no shaved years, i have no fear of confrontation should it be required

And at the end of the day there are more stupid people voting than high iq stock. As a high iq person dont you think your message will be heard more by giving council seats to ff+ if you follow my policy of vote sa until they win, give them a term (because it doesn’t even take that long to “find your feet”) and then vote for ff, in theory it will keep the socialist tendencies down to a minimum.

I see there are no ff councillors in rondebosh, maybe it’s too early to judge but we still have the pr vote to voice your gatvolness, better than spoiling a vote which just gives the stupid people more representation.
