Accession - like secession - is simply the act of exercising of one's right to Freedom of Association.

In other words, the act of choosing your friends/associates/fellow citizens, or opting in/out of any particular group's membership. Including a political union.

It carries the implication that from time to time in life, it is necessary to rid oneself of parasites disguised as likable people, and to make new friends/form new groups in order to preserve/enhance one's quality of life/chances of survival.

Even 52% is giant red flag..... you can't have 48% of "your own people" constantly dragging you towards the edge of the socio-economic cliff.... and expect to survive. You'll be treading water until you drown.
