New channel for DStv rival in South Africa

I must say, I'm a fan of OpenView. I've got both an OVHD and DSTV decoder at home, and switch the satellite cable between whichever one I want to use. Currently I'm not bothering with DSTV so the service is inactive, while OVHD remains active (as it's free) and has helped me watch a couple things I wanted ... not least being the FIFA World Cup games on SABC Sport and SportyTV. Quality on the HD channels is great, my only sadness is they don't carry their own news channel (eNews) because that has an exclusive deal signed with DSTV. Go figure! If only they'd bring on CNN or Sky News, that would be a massive win ...

Subscribe to EasyView on DStv, just R30 and still no need to connect to your TV.

What do I mean?......
For some weird reason, the EasyView streaming has had that eNCA news channel for years! (Seems it's something to do with the China news channel not being on the streaming option.)

Note 1: EasyView package not available as a stream-only option.
Note 2 (for clarity) : No, channel is not on the satellite feed of EasyView.

I might give this a shot, but having to give anything at all to DSTV pains me.

Easy View is available as a stream only package @ R29 pm with 1 anywhere stream.

Maybe not even worth it. Better to get the decoder version and still have 1 stream also.

No, they no longer allow streaming only. It's also been removed from public view on their website so needs to be requested.

I think the real question is how does Easy View for R29 pm compare to OVHD for R799 once off?

Which one offers better value for money vs entertainment?

For sure. Well, pays for itself in about 2 years if OpenView offers what's needed. And it seems most decoders survive many years.

EasyView is mostly just a technical value in my case as I've got more, but generally speaking it does have the older-content BBC UK and TNT movies channels as well.

BTW, EasyView offers all these as well
