Total DStv overhaul in South Africa

It's like they just renamed Compact lol.

It's like they just renamed Compact lol.

I know there's some spillover when there's a few live games on concurrently, but Compact didn't now recently start offering a staple diet of any live rugby or cricket AFAIK.

Will be interesting to see how much more Compact Plus gives. But there were signs of them discontinuing it (or downplaying that somehow), so a big question mark there.

I suspect this will be across all of southern Africa, maybe further north too - recent changes suggest a too similar pattern.

Only local rugby? Lol that sports package is about as useful as a cock flavoured lollipop. Useless.

More than half the world would consider that lollipop, not so useless :X3:

I have questions.

Formula One?
Motor Racing?
International Rugby?
Tour de France, Summer and Winter Olympics?
World Cup Rugby, Soccer, Cricket - men's and women's?
International tennis?

In other words, everything we get now (plus the Winter Olympics), if not, tell us what we are not going to get.

A Sport package that doesn't show all URC matches involving SA clubs and Springbok matches? Come on MC

Add to that the lack of F1 and ODI/test cricket?

Ja no.

Again, alienate your market and they walk.

A lot of people will grab these changes with both hands. These guys will at least have done major market research, and not the crappy version of that which last management professed doing.

But at least then our opinions will be noted, this forum is too popular for them to ignore.

Like overhauling a taxi... once done it will still release billows of smoke into the air, sound like a grinder, and hoot at every tree and pedestrian while cutting off the beemer

Doubt

People asked for one thing. And instead of offering that one thing, it took them years to offer a watered down bs version of it

The sooner they Fkoff and die like telkom, the better

If they give peeps what they think they should be getting, they'll bankrupt themselves. It's a start, one most of us doubted seeing for years still.

But if they now sit on their hands for the next couple of years, then I agree

From a purely business and value extraction point of view, this change is perfect. There is a majority of the population that is only interested in soccer, . Then you have a large portion that are interested in soccer and cricket with a bit more disposable incomebut not much disposable income but didnt want full premium just for cricket. Then you have the rugby fan that have the higher disposable income. Now by taking that and locking each behind a scaling paywall and probability is you increase subscriptions in the middle. And for Premium subscribers, as usual, here is the rusty pipe without lube.
