A very large part of the full price includes things which effectively come down to taxes. Some of these additions to the fuel price were about to be stripped out before the wonderful government decided to keep it, since they could use the money for whatever they want. Similar thing with value-added tax, which started at a very low percentage and was supposed to be temporary. The government decided to keep it because they could use it for whatever they want.
We have destructive, greedy, and hateful leaders. You cannot be surprised that the results of their governance, of their leadership or lack thereof, of their decisions, are chaos, destruction, poverty, and the like. This isn't something one can mention lightly or should mention with any amount of enjoyment. This is sad and this country can be so much more, but the government keeps it down and keeps destroying its prospects.
The best thing they can do is to leave the country and its people alone and to stop interfering because they're incapable of improving anything, unfortunately.
