Solar generation in rain/cloudy conditions

Got a message from my BIL asking me what they should do coz it’s rain for the next 4 days. I told them not to worry and just to switch off the pool if necessary.

I checked the app and I see above average consumption for the last 3 days. And I see they did all their laundry, dishwasher stuff etc.

They have definitely embraced the solar offgrid lifestyle🤣. The even told the cleaner to come during the week. I wouldn’t have gone that far but hey, she does use quite a bit of hot water.
 
Well it's a bit iffy today, so just pulling some from the grid today as the dishwasher needs to run and the generator needs the carb cleaned.

Interesting. We are in similar area. Doesn’t seems as bad as advertised by the weather.IMG_2302.jpeg

Yeah I think by 2pm we will be down a lot.

We had a really good time so was just a matter of time.

I basically only used 50kWh from grid last month so have quite a bit saved up.

Last month I used about 20 :-( but yeah its' like wtf
 
I was down to 17W a few minutes ago - just went flat as a pancake. Actually never seen a graph shape quite like today's so far.

0.3% efficiency at 10 minutes to midday. You don't see that very often.

Yeah if it wasn't for that early peak today might have been the worst day since getting my system. UV is so low basically non-existent so whatever we could have gotten the clouds just cover up completely.

Must be super thick cloud cover then

My 3rd garage took a hit from a damn tree branch that gave way to the strong wind.

Fortunately, even though it seems part of hit hit the panels, the tempered glass didnt shatter (Fivestar panels have been field tested for hail now lol). Its a tree outside the house boundary that I have asked numerous times to COJ to remove which they didnt.

I am told that if I call them now and say it fell on my house, they will have more urgency. Fortunately, it didn't damage the wall or roofing.

I will get a tree feller to remove any branches still left hanging into my garden. Have asked the neighbours many times to push COJ and they ignored me. My neighbour across the road needs to be more worried than me as 80% of the tree is leaning to her side. I am only going to remove the one branch left looking at my side and the rest is their problem.

Worst pv day since I got my system. 2.5kWh generated today.

They don't care if it's hanging over and you'll probably not get anything. I've trimmed all the trees that hung over my wall.
