I think Netflix has already done enought to support domestic media, and certainly a damn side more than Icasa or the SABC has done in the last 30 years.

The local film industry is mostly dead due to govt f ups. Chatting to my friends who used to work on movies and the only productions that are still going are Netflix ones because they don't need the subsidies.

Govt really needs a PK over this.

Il say it again.
Vodacom and MTN are the biggest players in communication. Communication causes increased road use as people make plans to meet up. Businesses also expedite deals due to better communication causing more goods and services to be delivered or picked up which also increases road use.
Increased road use causes pot holes.
If Netflix and WhatsApp should pay for this type of thing - Vodacom and MTN should be held accountable for road repairs using the same argument.
