The 'Massive' Gauteng Weather and Storm Warning Thread! The Sequel

Monday looked twice as bad as yesterday rain volume wise though, but haven't looked again, and as we've seen it's super-varied geographically.

Latest expects the next lot of rain (centrally speaking) from about 3 am. That continues with varying intensity until at least end of daylight Monday, so here we go.....
or not

Thunderstorms themselves predicted until about 9 pm tomorrow.

Wind will die down from about suppertime tonight and stay that way.

It doesn't look particularly so but the 20kph winds are steady here and gusting to I'm guessing 35

Strangest thing is its blowing down to ground level, the carports around my building look like they want to take off, and the sinkdak ones are banging like a landlord who hasn't been paid

Since I've been here its never been this way, always blows to the north an misses us due to the hill, today its oposite.

It's like you just jinxed it, but positively - now only fluffy clouds here, about 60% blue, good sunshine!

But there's more than a day to go, so....
Night rain like we had fine, quite a hectic storm from 2am till about 6

As a point of interest, most electricity generating wind turbines only start up at 5mps (18kph).

Ja no it was blowing a kak shot, its how fast it was at street level that amazed me, the result this morning is the main road beheind my complex has been blown squeezq clean, not a paper in sight, seems its mostly ended up in the small side streets between our buildings though, they have a tendency to cause swirling air in there

We've only had maybe two drops of rain and now the power's off for the first time in many months. Think the last time we've had a power outage was in Jan/Feb.

For me today the only water I have is the kind falling out of the sky. Power was last week. Can't have all the nice things at once!

Well we had some sun and now thick black clouds with rumbles sigh.

2mm friday, 12mm last night and nothing since. Hope there is a few more mm tonight. Centurion.
