Omarchy is a great project but it's roots and author are way too deep in strange things for me to have made a jump, but it's somewhat easy to clone the bits you like best into a DIY Arch. Mainly the window manager and the little gimmicks which were seriously user friendly IMO. For newbs, still a nice starting point, but why not bake your own cake once you've sampled a few

I get that sometimes people just want something to work with sane defaults (i.e. removing decisions like which power management daemon to use, which firewall to use, etc.) but I kinda agree with you.

My journey was (within the span of 2 days) Endeavour->Cachy->Arch.

Once I saw how different people were doing stuff, it gave me a great reference for how I'd want to configure my own system.
