Russo-Ukrainian War - 2022 Edition - Part 11

No hint of any compromise and wavering from original demands, just more threats. And after the meeting Witkoff gushed praises on Putin.

More than three hours of talks between Putin, Witkoff and Kushner in Moscow. And judging by the Russian readout, it was basically victory after victory.According to Ushakov, the Russian side gave its “clear and comprehensive assessment” of the war, highlighted the Russian army’s “real successes” on the battlefield and expressed confidence that Russia would achieve all of its objectives.Putin again insisted that the “root causes” of the war must be eliminated.Witkoff and Kushner, according to Ushakov, said they would use the assessments they received personally from Putin in their talks with Kyiv tomorrow. They also apparently found time to discuss potential major US-Russia economic projects. So, nothing particularly new from Moscow.Russia says it is winning. Russia says it will achieve its goals. Russia continues to dictate its conditions. And Putin still gives no public indication that he is prepared to compromise on the fundamental issues. The important question now is what the Americans actually bring to Kyiv.Because there is a very big difference between negotiating with Putin and simply collecting Putin’s terms in Moscow and delivering them to Ukraine.

The outrage if Ukraine if had done similar to Moscow airport

Russian attacks on Kyiv and Boryspil international airports were “clearly” a reaction to the possibility of the US negotiators flying to Kyiv after talks in Moscow, the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has said. On Saturday, Zelenskyy said Kyiv had “taken note of this Russian move, and next week we will adjust our operation accordingly regarding Russian airspace, which has become dangerous because of our drones and missiles in the sky. Of course, there are and will be no threats to diplomacy from our side.” Both airports service the Ukrainian capital.

Still find it astonishing how accepted Trump's imperial ambitions are and his obvious friendships with dictators, and disdain for Democratic states is both ongoing and he remains in office. I feel like the USA in 1943 would have gotten rid of a guy like him so fast it would make your head spin.
