Uber drivers allegedly faking vehicle safety scans in South Africa

Easy to tell Uber and Bolt vehicles, they are the ones that look like rejects from the Willards chip factory, with no panel being free from dents, and most looking like they went through a compactor the month before, complete with rust and torn panels all round. if a single light works, front or rear, they will drive. So long as it can start and stay running, it will be used.
 
I refuse to take these vehicles anywhere more than a couple of blocks. Imagine being on the highway with one-brake-lights-one-headlight-and-no-brakes.

If Dekra inspection is someone physically inspecting the car, then either this is not happening, or the inspectors in my area are getting paid off to pass non-compliant cars.

I got fed with the the quality of the normal Uber cars (UberX?) and hearing brakes squealing, CV joints knocking, a Christmas tree of lights on the dashboard etc that I decided to try Uber Black. I figured more premium cars mean they are probably better maintained. They are not. They are just as bad as the lower tiers in terms of mechanical safety, dashboards still warn of multiple faults, airbags were disabled in the one car according to the instrument panel due to a fault, I've had the car cabin fill with petrol fumes to the point I felt nauseous and wondered if the guy was carrying an open container of petrol somewhere.
