DStv has seemingly confirmed that it will roll out a major new package structure this month. This includes a new sports package, priced at R399 a month.

The pay-per-view company was recently acquired by French media company Canal+, which took control of MultiChoice, the South African group behind DStv, SuperSport and M-Net.

DID DSTV CONFIRM NEW PACKAGE STRUCTURE?
During the broadcast of the Springboks vs All Blacks match on DStv’s SuperSport channel, a group of spectators at the FNB Stadium held up placards that read: “Rumours are true. 17 September 2026”

The scenes were interpreted as confirmation that an announcement about a new package structure was imminent.

Those changes suck. I have "free" access to compact and I see thats basically gone so now you either take premium or pick between sports and series/movies

These Cnts just do not get it. Its a dying brand.

It will feature SuperSport’s Premier League and UEFA content, PSL, international cricket, local rugby, one URC match per week, and the UFC. It will also retain some entertainment content.

DStv Sport will not offer Formula 1, MotoGP, premium international rugby, such as Springbok matches, golf, and ATP tennis.

They must think people are dumb

So what's the point of this then?
the point is they can pretend to have listened to subscriber feedback, while actually not changing anything and still locking pretty much all worthwhile content in the same overpriced premium package as before

they will learn that it won't stem the tide of their subscriber exodus

Compact Plus still available. But they're hiding it for some reason.

its insane.

The full sport package is more expensive than the current inclusive package.

Bok games should be included on every package, the entire country watches it. They should be making money on the ad revenue, not the sub.

So the sport Channel excludes the most important sport. Got it.

At least the Premium option has come down a few hundred Rand, if those numbers are to be believed.
