Guys, what would be the point of Premium if they put all the sport on a lesser package? They would instantly lose all Premium subscribers.
 
I like the DSTV Sports package as it will give me everything I want from DSTV as I don't care about the Premium sports.

It is interesting that while most of the Western Cape may be glued to a Springboks game, the majority of KZN are watching a PSL game as they don't care much for rugby. These cultural differences between provinces and economic groups which Canal Plus have to account for and I think they understand the market perfectly.

I would like more URC games though with all the games of the four SA teams available on the Sports package but no international games.

You have no idea just how massive the English Premier League is in KZN
 
DSTV Sports, seems to be the sames, as what they had on the Showmax Sports thingy, where you had to watch on your phone. Now you can watch a similar selection on your TV ... , nice upgrade for some, but jar wellll - no Fine.

I am only interested in ALL the sport. I don't give AF about their kak repeated movies, series and 150 African/other language channels.

So you go premium you get sport + KAK

So options should be

KAK
Sport
Sport + KAK
 
This is actually a great deal for Premium decoder customers :)

Another detail missed - the one movie channel isn't changing, it's "merging" (and then that changing its name). @Jan

Also looks to me like 104 will be something new... I strongly suspect the expected Canal+ movie channel.

I don't know where they are getting that from. The information I've received from Canal+ Africa and MultiChoice was that Compact Plus remains as-is.

On the DStv explainer site:

"You stay on Compact Plus. It's no longer open to new sign-ups, but nothing changes on your account"

...

I Googled around and it seems Willington told some houses (at least Moneyweb and TechCentral) that they plan to migrate Compact Plus customers to Premium. Let's see...

Compact + being closed to new use confirmed, on the same DStv page. Thanks for helping find this @Jan

I guess it's still possible to change to Compact + until the 16th, but up or downgrades from then on expected to stop too.

That just leaves the soon to-be-empty channel 104 slot, any new movie channel coming not announced yet.

I was one of the five people who subscribed to Showmax Pro and liked it. It was great if you only wanted soccer, boxing and athletics. Now we get one rugby game and ESPN too.
