2027 BMW 3 Series teased with new (326 kW) M350 xDrive M Performance model
BMW has teased the next-generation 3 Series, with the German marque revealing what we can expect from the initial engine lineup.
Revealed in March 2026, the BMW i3 – the first all-electric 3 Series – previewed what we can expect from the upcoming eighth-generation internal combustion engine (ICE) model, especially in terms of exterior and interior design. Now, the German marque has teased the G50 iteration ahead of its official debut – the latter scheduled for late 2026, reports suggest, with a market launch penned in for 2027. Seen here wrapped in camouflage, the next-generation ICE 3 Series is in its final stages of development at BMW’s Miramas testing facility in France.
The new 3 Series lineup will be available with four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engines incorporating 48 V mild-hybrid tech. The initial (until a full-fat M model is released, that is) lineup will be spearheaded by the M350 xDrive. The latter, M Performance model will employ a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six coupled with a 48 V mild-hybrid system. The six-cylinder unit will produce 326 kW and 580 N.m of torque – good for a claimed o-100 km/h sprint time of 4.1 seconds and a 250 km/h top speed. Power will be delivered to the road via BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, paired with the carmaker’s Steptronic eight-speed automatic transmission. However, with ‘Drift Moment’ activated, power is sent to the rear wheels. According to the marque, the latter programme “brings a completely new kind of driving experience to the road”.
For comparison, and as a reminder, the current M Performance derivative – the M340i xDrive – employs a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six producing 285 kW and 500 N.m. The M340i xDrive has a claimed 0-100 km/h sprint time of 4.3 seconds and a 250 km/h top speed.

Considering the current M340i is +- R1.4m as is..... R1.5m to R1.6m isnt a stretch for the new one.
