Im currently in Spain for work and the amount of EV's i see here is quite surprising, these guys get weekly fuel increases and most of the ICE cars i see are diesel. Aside from the complaining i hear on the daily from co-workers at the office, quite a few of them have said they will be going EV when they do their next trade in.
