ordered a new laptop battery - any special charge instructions ?

thanks , mines on charge permanently i never take the laptop out with me

so i was advised to set the charge to start at 50% and stop at 60% . cant remember where that mas - maybe powerforums .

Yeah, you can set it to 80%. Mine's at 80%, and stop

Any works. As long as you don't go to 100%, even 98% is fine; the same goes for battery drainage, as long as it doesn't constantly hit 0%.
There is a margin with these things. Some days it will charge to 100%, and some days you'll run the battery completely empty. So long as you don't do it constantly, you'll be perfectly fine

Min goes up to 95% and only charge again when it hits 80%. Otherwise it keeps on topping up the whole time which adds charging cycles and wear.

If it is not an OEM battery it will anyways not be great quality and need to be replaced again in a years time. So just use the laptop to whatever is convenient and don't have sleepless nights over petty things.

Each battery has a limited number of charge cycles before it gives up, and the videos above show this. But by not doing full charges does help increase the life

Never had any problems leaving it on charge while using. Oem batteries always last for years. Only use the battery only if power is off or not near a power supply. Gone through 4 laptops the last 12 years without issues and still using the last 2. The oldest one (2018) still runs for at least 2 hours without power.

You bought it to use it, not to babysit the thing.

Charge fully, drain fully, charge fully, then mostly forget about it bearing in mind more battery power usage generally means shorter overall lifespan
