Definitely left wing. It's main competitor were the communists and they vied for the same working class.

I know it's touted as right wing, but their policies were also left. They nationalised and socialised much of industry. Introduced social programs and workers' protections and so on.

Dave, you don't be foolish. Don't lecture someone with direct German victims about WW2.. Stick to your British politics.

The Socialist and Workers were added to steal support from lower class workers on the left, they were right wing fascists.

The Bolsheviks also "stole support" by being pro worker and pro peasant. They promised so many things. They also abolished trade unions and made one big national trade union, like the NSDAP.

They (National Socialists) behaved like socialists and did socialist things.

You do the research, eg watch the video. I'm not claiming that NSDAP was merely socialist because of the name.

North Korea is a Marxist country and so a left wing one on the spectrum with socialists.

We had democracy in communism too, we also had elections, Dave. You do your research, I lived under that system.

Democracy gets redefined periodically. If people vote for a conservative party, democracy is claimed to be flawed by so many in Europe these days.

Also the idea that the big cities are the prosperous wealthy areas is like 20 years out of date. This is no longer true since the left decided to flood the cities with 3rd world migrants.

Socialist are left. Race based Socialist are still left.

Right does not mean racist.

Right is monarchy, religious rule, conservative values. Or republican constitutionalism in places that lack a monarchy. The Nazis even failed at patriotism, the party and their leader became more important than the country. Which is not right wing.
This is just how the French organized their parliament and were we got left and right from. Nazis or any Socialist are left. And fascist don't mean shít when you say it because you lot call classical liberals fascist when they try and stop you from transing kids.
You just want to be the fascist (overly bureaucratic and controlling state.)

It is funny that you lot boomers have been so indoctrinated to view the nazis as the ultimate evil. They are basically the best example of "democratic socialism" actually working. In less than ten years they build Germany into a real power to challenge the world. Obviously invading Poland/USSR and France at the same time was a bit silly, but you can have national unity and working Highways without going full German.

During the last few days there has been a LOT of news regarding the AfD success in Saxony-Anhalt. And after the results the news agencies flocked to that region and spent hours on the streets interviewing citizens.

The main questions:

Did you vote for AfD? And it was quite interesting how many people freely admitted that they did.

And then came the obvious question: "Why?"

And lo and behold...from young to old, I have yet to hear ANYONE say that it has anything to do with Eastern Germany and feeling left behind and the "old times" and "communism" etc etc.

Most reasons given:

Current government adding zero value, so why keep voting for them.
Immigration
No one listens to the voters anymore.
Immigration
EU policies created by non-voters are not in the interest of Germans.
Immigration

So, don't blindly believe the fearmongering being regurgitated by the leftist media...the only people that believe it and are crying into their strudel about it, are the pink haired, man bun, septum ring brigade in Berlin and Munchen...

While historically weaker in the West, the AfD is surging. It recently scored nearly 20% of the vote

At the federal level, the AfD is currently polling in first place at 28% nationwide, making it the most popular single party in Germany. This follows its record-breaking second-place finish (20.8%) in the 2025 federal elections.

"When" is impossible to predict...but it's looking good.

Boomer "guilt" is very quickly being overwhelmed by boomer "gatvolgeid" regarding immigration and the economy etc. Merkel REALLY fukked that country enough that boomers are thinking about the NOW and not the past.
